Cerro Pelado Fire: The Cerro Pelado Fire, 5 miles north of Cochiti, New Mexico, started on Friday, April 22, during an epic wind event. The cause of the fire is under investigation. It is burning in ponderosa pine and mixed conifer trees and brush. The fire is 92% contained as of 5-27-2022.
The Laguna Community Foundation (LCF) is a Pueblo Indigenous-led Community Foundation that provides support to the Pueblo of Laguna programs, initiatives, and COVID-19 Relief Efforts.
The Laguna Community Foundation's strategic direction is aligned with the Pueblo of Laguna's core cultural values, to support community in culturally-responsive ways of philanthropic giving. We are a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization located in the Pueblo of Laguna, New Mexico.
Our mission is to generate resources and charitable support for initiatives that strengthen Laguna Pueblo. Since 2012, LCF has sought to forward its mission through local capacity-building.
LCF is uniquely positioned within the Pueblo of Laguna to operate as a connector and convener, supporting entrepreneurial community efforts as defined by local leadership.
